First, “whiskey” or “whisky”? Depends on the bottle’s country of origin. Here is a way to remember:
– Countries that have E’s in their names (UnitEd StatEs and IrEland) tend to spell it whiskEy (plural whiskeys)
– Countries without E’s in their names (Canada, Scotland, and Japan) spell it whisky (plural whiskies)
My drink here is a Brown Derby. Created in the 1930s and named after the famous Los Angeles restaurant by the same name. The Brown Derby restaurant was a hotspot for a-list celebs at the time.
The drink is bourbon, grapefruit juice, and honey syrup. It’s quite yummy…similar to a whiskey sour, but much easier to make. My only regret with this drink…I only had pink grapefruit juice. The pink grapefruit juice tastes good, but it makes the drink a weird color.
